COVID IN DAUPHIN COUNTY: Vaccination Plans, Testing Sites and Results, and Other Information

As COVID-19 continues to impact all communities in Dauphin County and beyond, we offer a bank of resources and information on COVID-related topics, including testing, vaccination, and data regarding the virus’ prevalence in the county.

The Dauphin County Board of Commissioners are constantly working with partners at the local, state and federal levels to provide residents with access to testing, treatment, and vaccination options – as they become available.

VACCINATION

There is no timetable on when all residents will have access to the vaccine, however, state and federal officials have deployed a phase system, with healthcare workers and those at risk due to age and health conditions having first access to the vaccine.

The DOH recently opened an online resource for people to check their eligibility status for receiving the vaccine, and their closest location for receiving it. HERE: https://www.pa.gov/guides/get-vaccinated/

CASES AND TESTING IN DAUPHIN COUNTY

The state Department of Health reports 373 COVID-related deaths in Dauphin County, as of Jan. 13.

Over 34 percent of the county population has been tested.

Currently, there are 145 COVID-related inpatients in Dauphin County.

At a community testing site at the Giant Center in Hershey, more over 2,000 COVID tests were performed during a five-day period last week.
