The Dauphin County Board of Commissioners will vote at Feb. 24’s meeting on funding for a project to assist persons experiencing homelessness.

The Dauphin County Department of Mental Health/Autism/Developmental Programs (on behalf of the county) is applying for a Pennsylvania ESG Program grant in the amount of $707,545.

The funding would support a collaborative project involving the Latino Connection, Christian Churches United, Downtown Daily Bread, and Valley Youth House to support homeless individuals in Dauphin County for homeless prevention, emergency shelter, temporary emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, vaccine distribution, and street outreach.

The state ESG Program is part of the PA Department of Community and Economic Development.
