Dauphin County Commissioners remind residents of Three Mile Island emergency siren test scheduled for December 7 at 12:15 p.m.

HARRISBURG, PA (December 7, 2017) – Dauphin County Commissioners Jeff Haste, Mike Pries and George P. Hartwick, III are reminding residents within a 10-mile radius of the Londonderry Township-based Three Mile Island (TMI) that a test of the facility’s emergency warning sirens will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 12:15 p.m.

As part of the test conducted by Exelon Generation, which operates TMI, all 96 sirens within 10 miles of the facility will sound for three minutes.

The purpose of the sirens is to alert residents to tune in to an Emergency Alert System (EAS) broadcast station for information from state officials.

This test is the second of two semi-annual tests in 2017.
